After the 1974, Puran ceremony, Baba came back to Mumbai and after few days set out for the south India pilgrimage with Palghar Shetty. First place was Tirupati where he had darshan of Balaji and they came to Kanchi. There is a Kamaxi temple at Kanchi. There is a mango tree near the temple and its specialty is it gives sweet fruit on one branch, sour fruit on another and pungent on still another. Below that tree the idol of Shiva-Parvati. The priest arranged for puja by Baba and then garlanded Baba. Baba gave that garland to Palghar Shetty and asked him to keep it safely in his box. After Kanchi they came to Rameshwar. He performed Rameshwarâs pooja with due process. Next halt was at Kanyakumari. It was a long journey, but the car had only 5 liters of petrol. Baba was angry with the driver for his carelessness. Driver and Shetty sat quiet in shame. By then, a jeep came by surprise and gave them petrol sufficient till next pump. When pump came they filled petrol and turned to thank the jeep owner. But the jeep was nowhere to be seen. The next journey commenced and the road was good and empty, car was travelling at a speed of 100-120 miles per hour. After some time it skidded off the road. None was injured, but lifting the car was a problem. Meanwhile a truck came on the road with 8 to 10 labourers. They lifted the car on the road and in a few minutes the truck vanished. This was also a miracle performed by Baba.
The journey continued. They came to Kanyakumari, finished their bath, pooja and other work and started back via Madurai. The car was travelling with speed. At night it crossed Madurai. Baba was asleep in car. He suddenly got up after about 50 miles from Maduri and said âSee there, it is Meenakshi temple. How is it you came ahead without seeing Madurai?â It was not clear to anybody how Baba could see Madurai temple even after a distance o f 50 miles. But they turned the car and came to Madurai, took deviâs darshan and started back. They came to Selam and then Bengaluru. At Bengaluru they halted at their normal hotel âPalace Lodgeâ. People came to hotel and took Babaâs darshan and went back. One day a cloth merchant came for Babaâs darshan. He told the merchant to bring the garland he had brought from Kanchi. He brought garland and said âBaba it is dried upâ. Then Baba took it in his hand. And wonder! It became a garland o f Rudrax. Baba gave one Rudrax to the merchant and told him to put it on the neck. âYou will improveâ, he told him. Then he asked the garland to be put the bag.
From Bengaluru Baba came to Amareshwar. He had spent his boy-hood there. From Amareshwar they came to Bijapur. One day he told Shetty, âyou had brought me here 15 or 16 years back and served me. At that time I did not bless you. Now again you have served me. This time I will bless you. He wondered how Baba could look what happened 15 years ago with the other elder Sadanand Maharaj. None could understand the relation.
