Chapter 9 – BABA at Bengaluru

K.G. Chennabasappa is a devotee o f Baba. Once Baba had gone to his house and took out a photograph of his from the wall and was observing it. At that time two Rudrax seeds came up on the photo. Baba gave them to the devotee as blessing and asked him to wear it. He told him, ā€œThis will do you goodā€.

Lingayats of Karnataka wear a miniature Shiva Ling put in special container called ā€œKaradigeā€ and wear it as necklace. Baba said he wears it only when he goes to Karnataka. Chennabasappa said, ā€œYou have the Atma-lingā€ why do you want anotherā€. When he was telling this, from the Baba’s dress of thin cloth a silver ā€œKaradigeā€ was seen. Only for a few seconds the god in ā€˜Linga’ form was seen on his chest and then entered the ā€˜Karadige’. The devotees thus had the darshan of ā€˜Atma Ling’.

Chennabasappa’s daughter’s marriage was fixed. For the ornaments their family took 6 gold sovereigns put them in a leather bag gave it to Chennabasappa. But when they went to gold-smith’s shop it was already night and the gold smith suggested that it is best to talk next day morning. But when they came back from the shop and saw the leather bag instead of 6 sovereigns only three were there. Chennabasappa and wife felt sad and started thinking where the 3 sovereigns were lost. They doubted the servant and gave him to police. Next day when Chennabasappa’s wife started searching, one last time, three sovereigns were found on her body. They were sure it was a miracle performed by Baba, and all praised his divine capacity.
