There are many good old Kannada songs on Lord Dattatreya
My mother used to sing in early 70s.
“Yogi manege Banda”
“Atri nandana Datta shri guruve”
Datta digamara yenu manave”

It’s difficult to establish as to which language it was written in first.
I used to interact with Late Uma thayiji on old songs literature.
She told once about Devaraya who wrote these old songs who was dattopasaka.
Many popular songs are in both languages. Hence not sure.

Why so ?
Our region, especially 4-5 districts of North Karnataka: Balagavi. Dharwad, Vijapur, Kalburgi, the old generation Brahmin ladies are aware and conversant in both the languages- especially when it comes to devotional songs. It might happen also no lyrics written available but circulation through word of mouth. My mother in law, who is originally from Balagavi, sings some old songs and arati on Dattatreya. In their ancestral home Guru Charitre in Sanskrit is available.

Coming to Our ashram arati “Dayaghana Datta Raja moorti “,
It’s an original Dattatreya arati song being sung since from Dattatreya avataara on this universe. The arati song is performed to only Dattatreya avataari purush. This was told by Shri Babaji to Late Shri BG Patil sir.
We all knew that Patil sir used to go on depth in linguistic research. When he wanted to know on arati song, he was called by Babaji and told as above.
